KLA ART 014
KLA ART is Kampala’s Contemporary Art Festival. The project commissions new artworks – by Ugandan and East African based artists – to showcase to publics in Uganda’s capital city, Kampala.
The festival was founded in 2012, and I worked with a team of people and cultural organisations in Kampala to deliver the first two editions.
KLA ART 014 took place throughout the month of October 2014 and showcased new work from artists in Uganda and Uganda’s neighbouring countries. The theme was Unmapped; who are the unheard voices of our cities? How can we represent and celebrate the unseen urban-dweller?
We took over Kampala’s Railway Station and 20 Boda Boda motorbikes to show this work…
